Welcoming Joy!

but sometimes your smile can be the source of your joy.

As I prepared to write this post, I looked up the word ‘joy’. It comes from Latin ‘gaudere’, meaning rejoice. The dictionary defines joy as a ‘feeling of great pleasure and happiness’.

A bit like the chicken and the egg, I have often wondered which comes first – the smile creating that feeling of joy, or the feeling of joy lighting up that smile on your face? Is it the act that causes the joy, or feeling into the moment and breathing in joy that makes the act special?

How much joy do you feel?

How much rejoicing do you do?

How, on the really bad days, can we find our way back to joy?

What brings you joy? What lights you up and turns you on?

What special moments spring immediately to mind, when you think of rejoicing?

Is your heart ready to receive?

All through August we’re going to be sharing Joy here at The Calm Space. A glorious gathering of contributors are lining up to share their joy, their heart, their creative gifts with us. We’ll attempt our own individual answers to these questions, and more.
