Happiness is Room to Dance

Desperation; Who Holds Your Heart?Happiness is…

  •  a delicious home-cooked meal
  • finding clean clothes to wear
  • getting the kids to school on time
  • welcoming unexpected visitors
  • room to dance

Did you notice that list does not include a tidy house, organised shoes or colour-coded containers?

That’s because those things are just on the surface. Those things are the features of being organised, not the benefits.

The true beauty of being organised is not the tidiness, or how things look. The true beauty, the lasting happiness, is how being organised makes you feel.

Living a stress-free life because you find what you need when you need it, because you’re not constantly running late.

Living a healthy life because you have time to exercise, because you plan and prepare healthy meals.

Living a fun life because you say yes to opportunities, because you’re ready for anything.

What does happiness mean to you?

I LOVE being organised – it frees up so much time and reduces me having to run around after my kids! “Mum, I need a pencil” – in the big blue pencil case in the craft cupboard. “Mum, I can’t find my yellow socks” – try the sock basket –
“Hon, where’s the electrical tape, spare dog lead, plastic bags – no not those the big ones, the toilet paper etc”.
Just by sorting out the stationery in our house, spare exercise books, pens, textas, pencils and crayons all into their own pencil cases and boxes has made it clean, streamlined and SO easy to clean up. When things have a home, within everyone’s reach, life just gets easier.
More time for popcorn and movies, if our things are organised for the morning – I don’t get as cranky about the kids avoiding going to bed – I can afford to let them sleep in for 15 – 20 minutes, OK, maybe that’s let me sleep in!!
