Spiritual Becoming

Have you noticed in the past decade or so that people seem to be polarising? I believe that more of us are working on our spiritual growth and becoming ‘better’ people, but many others are becoming more self indulgent with less concern for others. The latter are characterised by selfishness, disrespect and rage and many have become even more extreme with increasing theft, violence and mass murder.

The Creator must be mightily disappointed with the latter tendency and has I believe, asked Mother Nature to show her displeasure as well. I am not trying to be controversial here but I do believe in God’s ‘Law’ side as well as His ‘Love’ side. Cause and effect.

How then can we reverse the damage that we, the human race, are causing? We must become what God intended from the start – beautiful souls in His likeness, sent here to be His conduit to each other; to become more evolved as ‘humans’ and not take the path into despair, apathy, anger, etc.

As the various countries of the world become ‘closer’ with technology, etc. we are all more susceptible to the damage caused by our neighbours. We can no longer claim that we are innocent and should not have to pay for the ‘sins’ of others.

World events seem to be on a downward path. But do we not have a choice as individuals to rise above the doom and gloom? Do we not have a choice to become more like God and work together synergistically to reverse the trend?

I always did believe that the ‘goodies’ must win in the cowboy movies. Wear the white hat, become the white rounded pebble dropped in the middle of the pond to radiate love and joy to everyone with whom you come in contact. Don’t wear the black hat and demolish the pond as you plunge into the middle of it as a big black hard rock.

We have the potential to make a huge difference here. In this new year let us become better people by transcending office politics, petty disputes and jealousies, by not allowing negative comments or events blow our ‘pond’ to bits. Let us instead, become little white pebbles splashing gently in our ‘pond’, showering those around us with smiles and peaceful words.

2012 can become one of those years that everyone remembers as a turning point of great significance if more and more of us find and maintain The Way.

Love, peace and wisdom
