Dwell in possibility

~Emily Dickinson

“I dwell in possibility.”  What a wonderful place in which to live.  Do you dwell in possibility or in impossibility?

How sad it is that we leave our childhood behind and with it our innocent belief in magic and possibility. How real was it when Santa or the Tooth Fairy dropped in at your place? Were you one of the many who jumped off the roof with your umbrella expecting to fly like Mary Poppins? Were you hoping to find the Faraway Tree and slide down the Slippery-slip? All opportunities were open to you if you just went out and looked.

Somehow as we grow older we outgrow possibility. We let it be sucked out of us by a demanding, tyrannical world. It doesn’t have to be like that. Possibility is everything and everything is possibility. The world is full of miracles if you only stop and look around as you did when you were a child.

Each day small but wondrous miracles happen. Like daily bursts of ‘possibles’ they change my whole world .

Is it possible that a tiny, soft velvet tuft can push its way out of solid wood? It sounds unlikely but the spring blossoms will show you otherwise. Natural magic makes it happen.

Lie back and look at the night sky with its glittering starlight and beaming moon. There is no cosmic glue holding them in place, just natural magic keeping them safe.

You are the keeper of the natural magic. You were born with natural magic of your very own although most of us have not used it since childhood. Using natural magic takes practice but once you master it your whole life will change. Nothing is impossible. Everything becomes a possibility. Possibility shows you choices that you may never have realised that you had.

With natural magic as your gift you can send your life any way you want it to go. All the impossibles are suddenly possible and once again you can live life with the wide-eyed joy of a child. You will dwell in a world of possibility and your Faraway Tree will be waiting for you.

I love that quote. Yes, I live to love life, and to dwell in all things possible.
I think it keeps me young.

Thank you, Dee. If we can remember to use our natural magic I think the year will be wonderful for us all.

pve, the quote is an inspiration, isn’t it? I want it framed and hung in front of me to remind me on a daily basis.

Thank you both for reading my article and taking the time to commment.
