Spiritual Perspective on 'It's Your Life'

sailing to the sunrise

Many of us would say ‘well yeah, I know it’s my life!’ but I wonder how many of us have really thought about what that means at full strength?

The concept fascinates me I have to say. My mum and I have had more than one discussion about the amount of control we need to take over our own lives versus trusting that the Universe is always on track. As I was thinking on what to write about this month, Serendipity stepped in as she so often does if you ask for Divine guidance.

I subscribe to a wonderful email thought from ‘The Universe’ (aka Mike Dooley at www.tut.com ).  So often the message of the day is exactly what I need to hear or know just like wisdom/angel cards or great spiritual books I just pick up and open to any page.

Today, I read my email from The Universe and it brilliantly put my thoughts into words. And I quote:

Annie, living the life of your dreams is a lot like sailing.

You pick your destination, hoist up your sail, make minor adjustments while the journey is underway, and let the wind do all the hard work.

… don’t think that just because there’s magic in life you won’t have to hoist up your sails, or that doing so will instantly deliver you to your destination. Don’t assume that just because there isn’t wind one day it’s a “sign” that something is wrong, or that you won’t have it tomorrow. And, perhaps most importantly, don’t forget to pack your Ding Dongs, Ho Hos, and cupcakes.

(Mike is also very funny which helps. Plus I’m a sailor so brilliant all round really!)

So once again it comes down to our own personal responsibility for our choices but also letting the Universe do its thing. Let’s hope we get the balance right today!

Love, peace and wisdom
