NB: Calm Space Salon is currently closed to new members. The doors will open again in December 2013 for just 5 women. If you’d like to be first in line to explore the goodness with us, please email me thecalmspace @ gmail . com to receive priority advance notification when the doors open. Thank you. xx
We all have a deep need for connection, for nurturing, for love.
When we breathe through the old patterns, and gently put aside the guilt,
we open up to the possibility of a deliciously beautiful life waiting for us.
We want to craft that beautiful life and enjoy the process.
We want to welcome in a different way of doing things. We don’t want to feel deprived, limited, constrained.
We want the change to feel natural, to flow – like a deep river making the journey to the sea. The powerful current surging towards our destination and yet, calm.
We want to (finally) keep those promises we’ve made to ourselves, too many times to count.
Whether that change is something specific you’ve been striving for half your life (get fit, write a book, eat healthy), or something that’s just out of reach (spring out of bed with a smile on your face looking forward to each day, a happy household).
Whether that change is welcoming something new and beautiful into your life (blissful love, a new home, a spiritual practice) or developing new ways of seeing what is and discovering the beauty hidden there.
Or whether it’s about finally going for that dream (travel the world, start a business, make art), or giving yourself permission to do those things you’ve only fantasised about (getting more sleep, nurturing yourself, more time for me).
Calm Space Salon is
- part inspiration for crafting the change you seek, with an ease that will surprise you
- part accountability for keeping to the path and getting back on track when you falter
- part community encouragement and support, because doing it together is so much richer
- part nurturing and gentleness for your heart and soul
- living deliberately, tapping into ease and flow to help you craft the life you ache to live
- paying attention and noticing the small things on your path to that beautiful life
- creating rituals, luscious rituals, of actions that enhance and grow you on every level
- celebrating every little step of the way, because life gets richer and richer the more you celebrate
- sustainable change, the type that doesn’t rock your world unnecessarily, the type of change that doesn’t have you frantic or feeling incredibly depleted and deprived, the type of change where you feel better, stronger and more together as each day passes
Is there is something about your self or your life that you ache to change?
Is there is a promise to yourself you keep making (and breaking)?
Do you long for a better way in one area (or all) of your life?
It doesn’t have to be new year or your birthday to see a golden new year stretching out ahead. Anytime is the right time to see 12 glorious months of new opportunity to finally. once-and-for-all. change. my. life.
At New Year, we resolve I’m gonna do this, and I’m gonna do that. It’s a new year and I’m a new person. Now is the time.
And we all know how that works out. After all, we’ve had so much practice.
Could the next 12 months be different?
Could this year be the year to actually create a different life? Where you get to the end a changed woman who glows.
Where you have that gorgeous feeling of accomplishment, because you did it!
You took the action. You did the work. And wow, girl, look at you now!
Imagine donning your party frock, popping the champagne cork, and dancing like there’s no tomorrow in celebration of that beautiful life you’ve crafted.
I started ‘officially’ coaching and supporting women nine years ago. And I learned what works – and what doesn’t – and how I can best support you by creating an environment to keep you going through the hurdles and side-tracks and dead-stops that inevitably happen along the way. I’ve gathered that all that up into this luscious space.
Calm Space Salon is Flexible.
You commit for a whole year, six months, or one month at a time. Flexible. Easy to budget for.
It’s been such a pleasure spending time in The Salon, a very restorative time.
At the beginning I was looking for support and advice to get my (non) sleeping habits under control. I was really making poor decisions about rest, forever on a treadmill of getting more done, and it was affecting my health and well-being. I have found that support and advice and so much more.
Not only are my sleeping habits much improved, I am now much kinder to myself. I make better decisions, ones that support and nurture my soul. And I don’t feel one bit guilty about it.
Angela Esnouf, Creating Order from Chaos
We take a monthly focus.
You’ll be changing your life, 30 days at a time.
But, here’s the thing. You will set the focus yourself.
(But not by yourself unless you want to.)
We take a bigger view.
You start with a gentle yet intense visioning process. From that, you know both the depth of who you are, and the grand soaring vision for your life. This is visioning like you’ve never seen it.
Fully supported and guided through a unique process I’ve developed, you’ll uncover a compelling vision of who you are and what you want.
You will craft your inner compass to guide your actions in every corner of your life, and you will feel energised and enthusiastic once more.
It’s not about content. It is about process and connection.
There is so much noise out there, so many ways to do things, so much advice, and lessons to share, that it can all get quite overwhelming. I don’t want to clog up the airways (and your hard drive) with content.
I firmly believe that changing your life is less, way less, about the how.
You know a dozen ‘hows‘ and yet year after year nothing changes.
We can get bogged down, procrastinate, sabotage ourselves, compare ourselves to others, and destroy our self-esteem and willpower in big gulps.
I am offering the antidote to all that.
I have developed a process and structure, a simple sustainable framework for changing your life one step at a time.
Join a committed group of women.
Group interaction and support can be vital to how we feel, especially when we’re in the midst of change. Join the luscious group of women in the Salon. They have made a commitment to themselves, and opened the door. Will you?
I love being part of The Salon, at first I saw it as a wonderful supportive place to escape to, but it has become much, much more. It has given me a safe and sacred space to express myself and to allow time to think about myself and what I want. It has given me cause to look at old hurts and things from the past and move through them knowing if that if I need help and support I only have to ask for it and it is there. Káren has the gift of asking seemingly gentle questions that can unfurl many thoughts and feelings and help you make plans.
I have many wonderful plans for 2013 and feel a fantastic path opening up in front of me. Thanks to the Salon I feel clear and sure of the exciting changes I have planned.
I look forward to continuing to be part of the Salon in 2013.
In a nutshell
You show up.
You take focused, specific action.
You feel supported.
Lifted higher than you could go alone. Drawn inexorably onward.
You stumble (because you will stumble).
And we will pick you up, dust you off, help you lift your gaze higher and get back on track. Fast.
Because you finally understand the power of showing up completely in your life, and crafting it beautifully!
I am thrilled to extend you this invitation to join me in
Calm Space Salon
- We warmly welcome you, and envelope you in the connection and support of the group.
Your welcome includes a questionnaire and a tour of our virtual place, to get you settled in with a minimum of fuss.
- Each month, you support, encourage, and connect with each other.
This will include a weekly framework to check in with yourself and others.
- At the end of each month we’ll do three things (either privately or in the group):
Report on your progress. There is nothing so powerful as accountability for honouring your commitment to yourself.
Set your step for next month.
There’s more to support you:
- Twice monthly group coaching calls up to 90 minutes in length (recorded), where you will tap into the power of the group and experience laser like coaching on what is coming up for you, or where your focus is for the month. Call times will be staggered to ensure the greatest possible access across different timezones.
- I monitor the group closely and where I see a common need or a gap in your skill-set, I provide additional resources or bring in a guest expert to run a special masterclass for the group. The library of previous Salon Masterclasses are available for you at any time.
- Discounts or complimentary access to all programs and products I release for the duration of your membership (there’s so much in the works!)
I know you want to make this commitment to your growth and life. As I think about the possibilities and powerful change that can happen in your life with small deliberate steps taken consistently, my heart feels swollen to bursting with excitement for you.
If there is something about your self or your life that you ache to change,
If there is a promise to yourself you keep making (and breaking),
If you long for a better way in one area (or all) of your life,
… this is for you.
Let’s get you started on this beautiful journey!
Calm Space Salon will open to new members late in 2013.
I look forward to you claiming the most delicious experience of yourself you’ve ever imagined!
If not now, when?
After a lifetime of being harder on myself than anyone else, I learned the power and value in taking a gentler approach. No longer a task-master, cracking the whip and expecting miracles, I have found that a kind, compassionate approach works as well with myself as with everyone else I come into contact with. I’ve changed myself and created such a luscious life (without a rolling pin in sight:)
A qualified life coach, wife, and mother of three, I run a busy practice helping women learn that the best thing they can do for those they love, and for their own livelihood (whether in business for themselves or working for someone else) is to take extremely good care of their number one asset – themselves.
I firmly believe in the magic of making change sustainable – and easy – and adore watching the miracles happen. When you (finally) make yourself a priority, it’s magic!
Here’s what some of the participants of my previous courses had to say:
The course marked a huge turning point for me. It forced me to slow down. It gave me the perfect ‘excuse’ to do things that I know are a good idea but I wasn’t making the time for, and it gave me the chance to try things that I hadn’t done previously – put new ‘tools’ in my toolbox.
I am slowing down more, which is HUGE. I am realizing more and more how important it is to take care of myself vs. push, push, push. I am pushing much, much less and people are noticing the difference in me.
Lisa Gillispie, Anatomy Conversations
The structure of the recent Self-Kindness Challenge provided me with the motivation to stop my usual routine and take the time to think about the questions being asked and the ideas being shared. I liked that this is something for ME in amongst all the daily stuff for all those I care for.
It was written in Karen’s wonderfully familiar and warm style (unlike other comparatively cold and distant examples of material from other sites, in books, etc) which encourages the sharing and disclosure we saw within the Challenge.
Sarah Waldin, SarahWaldin.com
…You won’t necessarily take the easy road, but you will be taking the right road. There is an intriguing mix between the sort of soothing style that she has, but there is no mistaking the hand in the velvet glove – it’s not going to let you step off the path, you’re going to be going somewhere. There’s a massive focus on gentleness, self-care and self-nurture, along with the primary driving force of action.
Chris Owen, Pink Apple
I loved the Self-Kindness Challenge! I learned a lot about myself, and how important it is to take care of myself. Everyone can benefit from these challenges. I enjoyed the forums with everyone talking about what works for them, and giving encouragement and advice to each other. I think that was my favourite part, but I really liked it all.
I learned to look in the mirror and say “I love you”, and really mean it. To me that says it all. Thank you, Karen.
The recent Self-Kindness Challenge was a wonderful, open environment to discuss taking care of ourselves. Seeing other people open up about their feelings about the challenge made it much easier for me to tackle my own challenges! Can you have it last 6 months?
Thank you for your gentle nudging and feedback. You’re an angel.
Are you offering scholarships for the Salon, as you’ve done previously?
I am not offering scholarships to the Salon. Whilst I envisage a glorious community of women rallying together for the common cause of their own growth and evolution, the primary focus of the Salon is change. It’s taking those big things that are stopping your ‘somedays’ from happening – the ones that hold you back from participating fully in your life, and making them happen. Because the time to start living is now. Not someday when you’ve got this handled.
And to do that – you have to show up fully. You have to be completely committed to the process. You have to do the work. And then when you stumble – yes, you’ll stumble. You’ll stop. You’ll even hide for a while – and that will be OK, because you see, you’ve invested in yourself. And you know – this is it. You will pick yourself up and carry on.
You’re paying for this, and that is showing up for yourself. When you can no longer remember why you wanted the end result, and there’s a wailing and gnashing of teeth, you’ll come back because you’re paying the money.
Are you offering a guarantee?
I am. I guarantee that if you show up, do the work, participate and immerse yourself in the structure and framework that the Salon provides, you will change. The final outcome, however, is completely up to you. You may discover that what you thought you wanted, the direction you were headed, is not really what you want at all. And you’ll turn your back on that and walk in another direction.
I will guarantee that participating in the Salon this year will bring you to next year stronger, standing taller, more confident in your ability to take charge of your life.
Financially you can withdraw any time. Send me an email, call me, let me know it’s not working for you, and we’ll end your membership that month.
There will be no refunds on the monthly payment option.
If you paid upfront on the yearly option and it’s just not working for you, please get in contact with me immediately. If we agree you’ve shown up and given it your best shot (there’s no hiding from yourself) I will refund the unused portion of your investment. But if you’re wimping out from your commitment to yourself or letting fear rule the roost, I’m going to request you give it a month or two of concerted effort first.
Can you tell me more about the group calls?
We gather together for two calls each month. These are at different times to help us do the timezone dance and hopefully fit in with your schedule at least once each month.
The calls are recorded and posted on the site. You will find value in listening to the calls – there is often clarity to be had hearing another uncover solutions and be coached through issues, even if you cannot attend live.
I will schedule further group calls as the community expands because I know the power of coming together in this way.
Our calls are:
First week of the month – *Monday 4pm Pacific = Tuesday 9am Sydney = Monday midnight London
Last week of the month – *Wednesday 10pm Pacific = Thursday 5pm Sydney = Thursday 8am London
(*nb these change throughout the year in various timezones, depending on daylight saving switches. All call times and changes will be notified.)
3. Call Charges
I use a conference line to manage our calls together. You are responsible for call charges. However, there are local numbers for you to dial throughout the US, Canada, Australia, and the UK, or you can call in by Skype to minimise call costs.
Can you tell me more about Personal Salon Membership?
I’d love to hon. This is the gold class offering, with priority access to me, and an hour together each month (plus lots more!). Email me if you’re considering it, or simply curious, and we’ll schedule a quick chat soonest! Contact Me.
