Putting Together the Puzzle of Your Life

I think the purpose of life is to be useful, to be responsible, to be honourable, to be compassionate. It is, after all, to matter: to count, to stand for something, to have made some difference that you lived at all.
~Leo C. Rosten
Every artist creates and writes with purpose; to share a message and to have made some difference that they lived at all. I guess we all hope for that, even our Fur-kids.
As I said goodbye to my gorgeous baby girl Molly today (one of my Pupstars), I am reminded all too painstakingly well that she chose me for a purpose. She obviously knew the tough times ahead that I would face and she saw me through every one of them – I owed it to her to be worthy of such endless devotion, love and compassion. I hope I’ve done her proud.
It was no great surprise to me that this month’s theme was ‘purpose’, at the time thinking of both my babies and how things seem to ‘fit’ in life. When I looked at the various pieces of the puzzle, I soon realised it creates a glorious picture, just waiting for me to put it all together. In some respects, I wish I was still missing a few pieces so I wouldn’t have to face the reality.
A few years ago, Linda Binns (the wonderful Feng Shui Strategist and guest writer here) introduced me to an America lady Dyan Garris, through one of her interview series. As I listened, I immediately felt a connection that I had to explore further. Who was this multi talented woman that is a clairvoyant, clairaudient, clairsentient, visionary mystic, a voice recognition psychic, trance channel psychic medium, and gifted energy worker that specialises in chakra balance and manifesting? And what do some of things mean anyway?
Dyan spoke of the music she creates that clears chakras and balances the body’s energy; of manifesting in its truest form and… of love. Real love; the kind you lose yourself in without ego, without expectation or advantage at the expense of another. Like my Pupstars still happy to see me even when I would come home late and grumpy, but just want to sit by my side and give me licks because they can, and love me unconditionally.
Whilst Dyan’s abilities weren’t a new concept to me, it was presented in a way that I hadn’t come across before. It was believable, real and without the hype that some of the more publicised authors of recent times have espoused; and I knew I wanted a piece of it.
‘Could there really be something in this?’ The slightly sceptical Dee pricked her ears up in curiosity, wonder and hope.
I quickly realised after listening to her music that there was a message of serenity and innocence within the notes, if only I dare open myself to what I might discover. They create a space for peace, and a sense of calm that speaks to your soul. It’s the kind of music that you want to curl up to and find comfort when you’re most in need.
I would most often listen to Dyan’s music as I lay on the lounge room floor by the fireplace, the Pupstars by my side and the room filled with candle light and bask in the simplicity of being alive and feeling peace and their love – it became our retreat; our sanctuary and it’s a brave soul that disturbed it. (Judging by my past few articles I should listen to Dyan’s music a lot more often! )
Dyan’s music is written with purpose, and so to understand it more fully I asked for her thoughts and specifically, how her music fitted with this theme. Her simplistic reply sent a beautiful warm tingle up my spine and made me smile. She replied:
The purpose of my music is a multi-dimensional one. The purpose of anything is simply to love.

I don’t profess to fully understand how Dyan creates her music; how she knows just what’s needed and what isn’t, but I do know the benefit of listening to it and the comfort it provides. I float away in my mind; I feel lighter and allow myself to get lost in the vibrations and tones. I once listened so hard that I could have sworn I heard a dog barking in the distance, but Dyan assures me it’s not the case – it’s funny what the mind will do when we give it the freedom.
Mostly instrumental and meditative by nature, Dyan has truly created some works of art; I’m not sure how she does it, but you can feel the notes permeate deep into your soul and it feels divine!
For various reasons, my favoured track has always been ‘Release’ – it reminds me of the old song “you’re my sunshine, my only sunshine…” and now, I know my Molly girl is not too far away.
With so much sadness in our world today, I hope you gain as much peace and serenity from Dyan’s music as I do. Hug those closest to you today – just because you can.

This is so beautifully written Dee. I love Dyan’s music too and isn’t it wonderful to listen and know that Molly is close by? There are certain songs that remind me that the wonderful animals who once shared their lives with me are close by. One of those is ‘Angel’ by Sara McLachlan and also ‘To Where You Are’ by Josh Groban – “Who can say for certain, maybe you’re still here. I feel you all around me, your memory so clear…….”
Music is certainly healing – and particularly Dyan’s music.
