Thirteen Discoveries I’ve Made on the Journey of Life (so far)…

I’ve been on a journey for, oh, at least half my life. I’ve followed highways, I’ve taken detours, I’ve wandered country lanes that were little more than twin wheel ruts, and sometimes I have cut a path through undergrowth so thick, it tangled around my legs and tried to prevent me from moving forwards.
I’ve battled flood, drought, heat and cold… cold so bitter it almost froze the marrow in my bones. I’ve been happy, I’ve been sad, I’ve been broken-hearted and I’ve danced with joy.
And all along, the good has always, always, outweighed the bad.
I have loved, and been loved – and that has made all the difference.
This journey I’ve been on? The one to find myself. And in the finding, to be happy.
I’m closer, so much closer today … to knowing the joy of being happy along the way.
Today, I wanted to share with you a little of what I have found on this journey. Each discovery has been like finding an oasis in the desert, or a comfy fire at an Inn on a cold, winter’s night. Some found long ago, old favourites, and some found what seems like only yesterday. And what a profound difference they have made in my life.
Come, join me…

Ahh you make the journey sound so simple Karen!
No doubt about it, you can put it this way because you’ve gone a long way. Thanks for sharing
Chris – Do I? Hmm… it isn’t simple, and I have days where I feel like I’m right back at the beginning. But I do try to live my life with a positive outlook, and I guess that makes a difference.
Patricia – does the journey show? I have gone a long, long way – I’ve battled dragons and demons and all sorts of nasties. And I know I have a lot further to go… but getting through the challenges is what the journey is all about. One step, one moment, at a time. Thanks for being here!
What a lovely post and a gorgeous image. It would be a lovely poster on the wall, wouldn’t it? Simple messages to live by.
I’m with Anne, I want this as a poster to remind me of these wonderful messages.
Thank you Anne and Angela! That’s a great idea about the poster… let me see what I can come up with. You’re an inspiration!
