We’re talking about Planning and Renewal

I am thrilled to announce, with a bottle of bubbles smashed against her hull, that The Calm Space has had the most glorious of facelifts! Things have changed… and not just on the surface. She will be easier to read, easier to keep up with, and better than ever!

Renewal and PlanningWe’re going weekly! You’ll notice that there are only a handful of Spaces up. This is deliberate. After a lot of feedback from our readers (thank you!) I made the decision to go to a weekly format – spreading our articles through the month, rather than all in one big lump at the beginning.

We’re still bringing you a theme every month – and all articles will be based around the theme. For November, we’re bringing you Planning and Renewal, and let me tell you – there are some real gems lined up for you throughout the month!

The final, and kinda sad, change is that we are no long offering a Monthly Prize Draw. When I looked at the work that went in, and the number of unanswered emails and unclaimed prizes (shocking, I know), it was time to let it go. So instead, we’re giving away the very special A Month of Me Time. Simple Daily Actions to Nourish Your Soul. Together with a complimentary subscription to the weekly Calm Notes. Simply enter your first name and email address over there on the right – no strings attached and you can unsubscribe at any time.

I’ve noticed so many people are saying things like “November already? How did that happen?” and “53 days to Christmas – aagghh…” and of course the classic “where did the year go?” And it does often feel like life just whizzes past in front of us while we stand there with our mouths open, stunned. I am so over that feeling!

I want to enjoy every single minute of the next two months before the new decade is upon us. And this requires Planning with a capital P. Planning to enjoy, Planning to notice. Planning to not sit on the sidelines any longer. Want to join me?

Whilst planning to enjoy, I’m going to need energy reserves and boundless enthusiasm. And the only way I know get them is to take care of myself, watch my priorities like a hawk and ensure I renew my spirit, my body and my mind regularly.

And so that brings me to our theme this month, Planning & Renewal.

This week:

At Relationship Space – Planning Some Christmas Calm

At Design Space – Keeping it Simple for the Holidays

Week 3:

At Sound Space – Celtic Inspiration for a Milestone Birthday and Beyond

At Serenity Space – Add Fresh Life and Strength this Holiday Season

Week 2:

At Living Space – Loss and Renewal. A Tale in Haiku.

At Spiritual Space – Spiritual Renewal

At Spa Space – A Recipe for Stress Relief

Week 1:

At Organising Space – Plan B

At Kitchen Table Space – The Christmas Book

At Breathing Space – some elbow room for your soul and don’t forget to download your November desktop wallpaper to grace your computer all month long.

Stay tuned for more goodness next Tuesday 1st December with our new theme!

As always, I love to hear from you – please either leave a comment below, or email me personally. I do so like feedback.

Wishing you a month filled with delicious moments, and plenty of Me Time to boost your energy ready for the festive season!

  1. Absolutely beautiful new look Karen! It definitely is a calm space! The warm, inviting graphics on the front page alone are worth a strong look.

And of course, your wonderfully calming, yet energizing and renewing writing.

Bravo Karen…and to your designer, big cheers!

  2. I LOVE the new look, these colours always evoke calm and it all feels so spacious, and stylish too. :)
Congratulations. I’m in the middle of a major overhaul myslef, so I know it takes a lot of energy. ‘Planning and renewal’ is absolutely spot on for me!

Congratulations on the new look and new format Karen. I think weekly is the way to go… spacing out all the goodies throughout the month. Means I’ll be back in a week not a month’s time! :-)

  4. Well done – the site’s looking very swish and fits perfectly with this month’s theme! I think the weekly alerts will be good for me; they’ll help me pace myself. I used to gorge in the first few days after the newsletter came out, forgetting I had a whole month to nibble.

I hope the new schedule means you have more spread out time with your family!

  5. Susan Mulder says:

Love the new look! I haven’t been back in a while (may calm space has been replaced by crazy-busy space for now) but your reminder brought me back and what a treat!

    Best wishes!

  6. Susan Mulder says:

meant to say ‘my’ not ‘may’-too busy to spell correctly I guess!

  7. Oh my goodness! I am overwhelmed with the wonderful feedback from you all on the new-look at The Calm Space! Thank you!!!

@Phil – as I tweeted yesterday, your comment made my day! Thank you – you’re the best!

@Jan – oooh, thank you. Yes, overhauls and reinventions need huge amounts of energy. Hope you’re taking good care of yourself as you do it. I’m constantly reminding myself :) I really appreciate your visit!

@Joanna – thank you my friend. Yours is the voice I credit with the weekly format, so I’m sending a huge hug your way… (it only took two years ;) See you next week!!!

@Janice – ahhh, glad we can help with the intake Janice. Nibbling, not gorging, definitely a nicer thought. Thank you so much for your contribution to our success – you’ve become so much a part of us in such a short time!

@Susan – don’t worry about the typos – definitely a sign of a busy life. And don’t we always notice them the minute AFTER we press submit? I hope we can add a moment or two of sanity in your crazy-busy space sometimes – even simple a chance to take a deep breath or two? Thanks so much for coming back, we love to have you here. xx
